We Exchange Used Needles for Clean Ones
We
exchange needles because we want to prevent HIV and other infections
among injection drug users by encouraging people not to share
needles and to dispose of their used needles in safe biohazardous
waste containers. This keeps used needles off the streets.

We Get People Into Drug Treatment
In
addition to needle exchange, we offer information and referrals
for drug treatment services in the Philadelphia area. We discuss
treatment options, insurance, treatment philosophy, requirements,
and provide phone numbers and addresses to our clients. We also
provide condoms, bleach, alcohol pads (for skin cleaning), clean
cotton, cookers, information on HIV prevention, and access to
medical care and social services. Medical care and HIV testing
are provided at some sites.

We Operate a Drop-In Center for Drug Users
The
Drop in Center provides a welcoming environment where drug users
can participate in activities and support groups, receive information
on medical and legal topics, volunteer, get help in accessing
drug treatment and other social services, and just get a cup
of coffee and relax.
